My role in creative systems and asset management is to support L.L.Bean’s Creative Department by curating and organize photo assets in MediaBank, L.L.Bean’s Digital Asset Management System. This include building searches, writing XSLT code for reports, and assisting various creative teams. I also communicate technical expectations to photography contractors and assist Media Operations with technical needs across various apps so they can manage over 40,000 product samples for media shoots.
Visit L.L.BeanAs a production artist, I used Adobe InDesign to built catalog page layouts based on business and designer specifications. Additionally, I gathered feedback from stakeholders and presented a successful PowerPoint proposal to remove color details from all catalogs saving hundreds of hours yearly for the Print Production Team and reducing confusion on catalog spreads. On the left is a spread I worked on!
My responsibilities in this role included preparing props and products for photography shoots, updating the product database using MediaBank, Shotflow and Microsoft Power Apps, and working with art directors to ensure that their visions are understood and executed smoothly on studio/location shoots. On location shoots, I was responsible for prop/product transportation.
I worked on the Creative Systems and Asset Management team. Projects included redesigning a shot-list report for stylists and coordinators to reference on photo shoots. I also worked with other interns to audit L.L.Bean’s wholesale performance and competition and presented a proposal for expansion to the marketing department. Finally, I collaborated with HR and other interns to redesign L.L.Bean’s career-facing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and Intern web pages.
My responsibilities at Georgetown Pottery included making and pouring molds, providing customer support, trimming pottery, hooking up clocks and lamps, and helping with shipments. Below is the process of two molds I made from start to finish. The mug was a project of my own that I created out of a piece of driftwood that I found at the beach. The clock was a project I worked on for Georgetown Pottery and is available in the store.
When Georgetown Pottery's stores were closed in the spring, I filmed and helped edit 120 videos of
special items that came out of the kiln each week. The videos were released in rounds of 10 and were
put on the GP website and
Facebook page
over the course of three weeks. Nearly every piece of pottery presented was sold within hours after
the videos were launched. Additionally, many viewers made custom orders for kiln specials that
had already been sold.
I also made videos for Georgetown Pottery’s products on amazon.
Here is one of them.
During my time at Ithaca College, I worked on their TV station (ICTV). ICTV is a student-run television station that airs over thirty shows and broadcasts to 26,000 homes. My responsibilities included weekly postings of various episodes on WordPress in addition to helping redesign the site. Click the button below to check out ICTV's site. I also worked on the ICTV show Sketch Me If You Can! as a camera, clipstore, lighting, and teleprompter operator.
Visit ICTVMy journey to the rank of Eagle Scout in Troop 648 has taught me many things from leadership to lighting a fire with steel wool and a battery. Some of my favorite memories in scouting came from my time as a Troop Guide helping cub scouts transition into the troop. For my eagle project, I cleaned up and added trail markers to a half-mile public trail. Through fundraising and a generous donation from Hammond Lumber, I was able to build 10 bog bridges on muddy areas of the trail. The photo above shows all of the volunteers who helped me accomplish the project.
